Hi guys,
just noticed that my harddrive is installed on the secondary ide controller with no other devices, while my 2 optical drives are set up on my primary ide controller.
It has been like this for ages, does it make a difference which channel it is on cos i thought that the hardisk should always be on the primary ide....

thanks

Nope, it doesn't make any difference as far as I am aware. I'd probably have the hard drive as primary IDE personally but that is more for neatness and because that is how I'd traditionally have done it but I really doubt it matters so I wouldn't change it just for the sake of it. You have a working PC, don't mess it up :)

As said above, the convention is to have your boot drive as master on the primary ide. But, tbh it doesn't make a difference. if its working fine then don't mess ;)
