Should I test using Prime 95 or Intel Burn Test? while testing using prime 95 my cpu temps never go over 72c but with IBT they peak around 85c! which one should I go by?

If you're trying to test your heat dissipation power use IBT if you're testing for CPU/RAM stability use Prime95.

IBT will generate more heat but Prime is more sensitive to your overclocking changes.

I just use Prime95 for 24 hours to check my PC is stable. Not had a problem at all with it. The temps with Prime95 are similar to temps when I am encoding at 100% load.

Each to their own IMO.

Personally give it 6 hours prime, 10 max IBT runs and then 4-5 hours on BF3. TBH BF3 has found more instabilities than either :p

Generally i use IBT first, i will do a 20 run of IBT with custom ram. i find this will find an unstable overclock quite fast.
Then i will do an overnight run of Prime95, 8 hrs minimum.

This is for a final run at the highest overclock i can get.
If you are in the middle of the overclocking process, i usually just do a 10 run of IBT, if it passes, i will raise the overclock again.

What version of prime? 27.4 has come with 2-4C of my top IBT temps as it uses AVX instructions now, those who tested with older versions may find they are not prime stable with the later versions with AVX support.
