Prime 95...

Most people say at least 8 hours.. I personally leave it running overnight...

Though I prefer to use LinX now to check for stability, it is a lot quicker, though once I get my system stable with 20 passes of LinX, I then check with Prime95 Blend Test overnight just to make sure my system is stable.. if it passes both of these tests and a few loops of 3d Mark Vantage I class that as stable...

Everyone is different though, some people only run Prime for 1 hour and if it doesn't fail any threads in that time they class it as stable, though I have seen P95 go for several hours before it BSOD's... that's why I prefer LinX...

I just wouldnt have thought after an hour, that any longer than that would cause anything to fail haha, but meh, thats why i asked the question!

LoL!!

Just be sure to keep an eye on the CPU temps when running any stress testing software..

Use CoreTemp, or RealTemp to monitor your Core temperatures incase they start overheating... though after about 5 or 10 minutes the temperatures should have levelled off and won't really get much hotter... unless your fans decide to fail of course!!!

Like I said though, everybody is different when it comes to testing for stability...

I like to make sure my rig is completely stable, so I like to be really thorough...

Is anyone running my cpu with the stock cooler and stock speeds?
Was wondering what temps theyre getting, as mine gets up to 80c in prime 95 all stock.

If you use the latest version of CoreTemp it has an option to shut your system down after you pass a certain temperature which could come in handy for overnight testing.
