basicly when i flashed the bios on my motherboard the otherday i had a problem booting again which has no been solved

now i have another problem, since then ive had programs (winamp, wmp, firefox in particular) randomly crashing out with errors, i ran superpi and prime95 and they both get errors pretty quickly

ive ran memtest to test the ram and that came out fine, ive tried reverting back to an older bios version (310, on a dfi nf4 ultra-d) but that hasnt sorted it either, could errors in prime be caused by software problems? corrupted windows files causing my computer to be unstable? if not then im going to assume my motherboard is the fault

well i only did 5 passes on a couple of different tests (i think test5 is the main one people use isnt it?) but i could leave it running while i sleep to see what results it gets from 7 or so hours of testing

within about 30seconds of opening CSS a minute ago the game crashed out, earlier on i couldnt even click submit to messages on here without firefox crashing :(

i have a motherboard i can use sat on the floor behind me (epox 9npa+) but im going to try everything else before resorting to changing mobo

EDIT: just realised the 310 bios wasnt the one i was on before, ive now flashed to the 623-1 bios, i THINK this is the exact one i was on before these problems occured, time to test

the ram is Geil value 2gb (2x1gb), running at 3, 4, 4 ,8 already, ill get 2T a go then im going to try it with just 1 stick in

im currently up at 2T, prime95 has been running longer than it normally does, normally errored after about 10 seconds, this time its even passed the first test lol

i think i know what it must be then, the bottom stick i had to take out for the stages of things to do when trying to get my motherboard working again, the bottom stick must have been damaged during removal from the pc

EDIT: that or something in the bios thats set to "auto" is actually running the timings too tightly

EDIT2: trying each stick individually at 1T now and seeing how it does in prime

EDIT3: well it appears that neither stick likes running at 1T anymore, yet they both run flawlessly at 2T :/
