hi all
i run my 4600 at 250x11 and my ram supprots up to 250mhz. my ultra D DFI seems to undervolt (according to cpu-z) so I am running 1.375v i nthe bios and still cpu-z says it is just under 1.35v. anyway i am getting a prime fail on one core after 6hours dual prime and I am just wondering is prime a cpu-z stress test of the entire system, as at such a mild overclock I am not sure what the problem is. my psu is the 450w from the sonata2 and my ram is running in spec at rated 3448 at 250mhz. any help would be much appreciated :)

also my the Hyper transport is at 250x4=2000

was thinking that might be it. but that means i need 1.4volts for 2.5ghz:( it also took 1.75v to get stable at 2.75ghz, what a ***p overclocker i got.

anyone got any comments on the DFI undervolting. i have had two of these boards and cpu-z reported the voltage to be slightly undervolted on both, or is cpu-z talking rubbish, thanks

cpu-z always reports low volts anyway, does the same with my dfi. I need 1.55v for 2.7Ghz (300x9)under water. Mine is crapping out @ 2.8,but needs 1.625v to get there.

I needed to tweak the volts for 2.5 on mine as well mate  X2 4400 btw

I was disappointed at first, but most of the X2s are struggling to get past 2.8Ghz from what i can see

head over 2 dfi forum, straight away , dfi boards real fussy on psu & ram, u psu aint on there recomended list, also it 2 low a psu for the board, recomeded now 480-500watt, this will 99% b u prob :)

PS! cpu-z aint the best appz when reading volts :) g/l

i had a look on there a while ago, they were helpful but went on about the psu a bit i tell ya :p

i hope the psu is ok  me mates got a conroe x1900xt 6hard drives tv card the lot in his sonata2

what app you recommend for the voltage reading??? :)

Smartgaurdian, should b on u dfi cd disc :)

was same on psu end while bak when 1st got dfi board, ran it on a 550wattt psu, ( crap branded psu) w8 on my ocz coming, machine crashed every time strain was put on, could not oc more than 1ooghz, without probs, when new recomended psu came, never looked bak :d

he aint powering dfi board thou :)
these r the elite oc boards(939), where built with OC in mind, so need that little extra 2 run grt. tbh do u pc a favour and put a decent psu in it, decents ones these days come with 3yrs warranty as well, will hold theree price well if u wanna sell ect :) ++ they so silent the ocz ones :d

looks like a new psu will have to be bought soon then :) true he isnt powering a DFI. i only got the sonata2 as ive read many reviews saying its a good psu (a strong antec branded one), but of course if these rumours of the new radeons needing 250w per card a new psu will deffo be needed will have a look on the DFI disk now thanks for the help :D

the app reports the same volts as cpu-z, so board must be slightly undervolting. It shows temps as the same as my bios, however core temp beta says they are much higher (around 66degrees under load).

Tbh, for it to be the Antec Smartpower 2.0 PSU, wouldn't you need like a cpu,mobo,2 optical drives,floppy,gfx,3 hdd's and a couple of fans and a lot more to have an effect on the overclocking ability using that PSU?
