I am currently overclocking my Q6600.

To class it as stable I'm assuming (from the post and previous experience) that prime is still the tool to use?

But which one? is 2004 the same as 95 other than the GUI? How long should it run to be sure of stability?

cheers guys

2.8GHz so far because I'm having no end of problems with this computer lately. :(

Primes fine for an hour or two at that though, not tested any longer.

You can test Prime yes that means it should be stable for everything if it works fine on that for a number of hours, however if it fails Prime after a short while that doesn't mean it's completely screwed up and not stable, I find playing some games, some video encoding (if you do any of that stuff) is also a nice way to test stability (Not like you bought a PC to 'play' Prime is it).

However for 100% guaranteed stability Prime is usually what people use, though I know people who fail Prime after 10 mins but can play games and do everything else perfect. :)
