Prime95 24 Hours Completed

I've used speedstep on my core2duo and current quad rig which I like to think helps save on leccy, but I never worked it out. Got any costs? As for 24 hour prime run, a bit excessive yeah but...he only did it once. I tend to leave it running overnight and if it's still running in the morn I call that a pass.

The speed/overclock isn't so bad for power usage, linear increase in power. The vcore bump in voltage is worse, power scales with the square of the voltage.

I tend to use Linx and OCCT, prime95 can run ages without failing and still be unstable.

Hi guys. What does 3dmark test? Is that a more graphics based stress test? Only my system is stable under ibt, Linz and prime but some games on the odd occasion crash :(

Which 3DMark?

For an excellent stability test that makes it easy to pin down which part of your system is unstable get S&M. Like OCCT, failures occur with it in minutes when Prime is fine indefinitely.

isnt this an OcUK overclocked bundle?

No it isn't Rich, as I changed the bios setting myself! All passed 25 times on Linx and all passed prime 95 for 24 hours. Fully stable. I did try gaming for 2 hours (no problem).

Maybe I can work with you Rich and target the best lower vcore and lower temperature for all ocuk users! :)

Bulldog has always posted lower volts 4ghz clock than me, but i stopped worrying after i had passed a test and now adays, i run mine at stock unless i need to load a "power" profile.

Pumping all the power through a CPU for just net use was making my leccy meter spin for no reason, 2% use of my cpu at stock for many days regular use made me understand, power is nice to have in reserve, but had little benefit day in and day out for me!

When i need 4ghz, i load PC as, most days stock does, I guess some would say why have a 4Ghz setup, I say why not, just use it if required!

Fair play to bulldog, not to many people will run a 24 hr prime test theese days, i know that total stability can never be guaranteed on any overclocked rig, you can run p95, LinX, ibt, occt etc till the cows come home, one test wil pass, another test could fail, total stability can never be guaranteed, but 24 hr's on prime95 is pretty good, personally i wouldnt do it myself, id be up checking on it all night.
