prime95 and intel burn test?

can any one simply explain what these are ^^ and what you use them for as people in post's have said to use them or they used it but i dont no what they are.

Ibt is just a gui for intels stress testing binaries. Linx 9.4 is the same thing but cleaner and less buggy but more usefully you can replace the rather outdated binaries with intels current ones for sandy with it.

Prime stresses the cpu in a less intense manner, putting more load on the memory controller iirc, hence it can catch errors linx might not. In truth a couple multi-core runs of maxxpi will find the same memory errors in a fraction of the time.

For home users they're only good for over-clockers really, or people wanting to test their cooling.
 
For seeing if you system is stable (ie does not crash) and to see what kind of temps your cpu is reaching under full load.
