Any ideas? Only happens on the blend test, small and large are no probs.

running a athlon x4 630 @3.5Ghz
G Skill 1600Mhz @ 8-8-8-24 divider at 677
OCZ 600W
Asus board in sig :)

cheers

yep, up to 1.3, would any higher reallu help?

very off this setup, it should pull 3.5Ghz @ 1.35 volts or so, this one needs 1.425 for 3.5Ghz.

Others will clock to 3.8Ghz easy, this gives up at 3.5 even if i push the vcore to 1.5625, NB to 8 or 9 x, htt link to 1200Mhz and ram dropped to the 400 divider!

This memory has given me nothing but trouble so far. Incorrect SPD's, didnt used to work at other dividers until the last bios update (however spd incorrect and sometimes wont boot at manual timing even though they are right for current ram speed.

I will do some cpu-z screenies tonight for you. current idle woth CnQ enabled(i disable it for OC) is 18C with load at around 42-45 depending if my heating is on/off.

I have never seen 50C with this chip under load,48C is about norm, OC to 3.5 and running prime for 4-5hours which is strange as really the cpu is hitting 1.425 and should prolly be pulling more heat with the vcore running so i am unsure if i 1. have a pita of a chip or 2. the vcore is incorrect in bios/cpu-z. I have seen this once before however dont have a multimeter at hand to test and i dont know if this is really common or i just have bad luck and my chip sucks!

here is the memory spec, could well be as i can run prime @ 3.75Ghz on large or small ftt, around 6-7 hours testing and it keeps on going but thats all i sleep for so not sure if i ran it longer but 7 hours SHOULD be okay??

G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM)

I have lowered my multiplier from 677 to 533 now and will retest @blend but i have tried so many combinations. I would just like to see if this is memory specified without having to fork out for more ddr3 however i know no one who has moved up from ddr2 to 3 but me that i know!

cheers

yep, tried them both, no errors on memory.

I think i have a pita of a chip, my mate who bought the same setup as me will be coming round hopefully friday and we can test his chip however he has stock cooling.

Bit gutted but guess the extra 200Mhz i was aiming for dont make a world of difference and a 700Mhz overclock without doing much is not bad.

October, i can assure you, i have tried EVERYTHING! i can think of. I think i will sell this on and get a 620. Do you think it could be the board/ram as the cpu really seems to like volts and it will prolly be easier to get a chip to test then board/ram.

memset suggests my cpu is not supported?

I have dropped the multiplier to 400 and things seem to go up a little more, loadline calibration at suggested 19%.

Will do some more screenies tonight, cheers for your help fella!
