Hi guys, im getting a squealing noise from what seems the motherboard, whenever i run the Prime95 Blend Test. It appears after 10 minutes or so of the test, isnt particularly loud but audible and is fairly high pitched.

Dont hear it in 3dmark or games or anything, i see its mentioned a lot on Google, anyone had it before, anything to worry about?

Saw someone thought it was a bad capacitor

Cheers

(p.s spec is Q6600+P5K Deluxe+2GB Corsair DDR2)

I know the noise you mean, I used to get that on one of my old Abit board's years ago. Used to drive me crazy. Sold it to a mate in the end. :p

about a month ago when i put my pc together i was getting this each time i turned the computer on and SOMETIMES in stress tests.

When i built my PC i noticed the expansion slots really stretched the mobo round as you tighten the cards to the case more and more (Lian-Li 'n' all). To fix the problem i adjusted the screw position so my graphics and sound cards don't pull the mobo up and cause it to bend. I now don't get the squeeling noise, and i'm 80% sure this was the problem.

Hope this helps!
