Prime95 fatal error

My application is like below, is that enough? Should I spread it out or just leave it like that?

Yeah try that. The heatsink will spread it out.

That or try spreading it out with a credit card.

Hope to god I dont have to do it again - taking the mobo out is a pain.

Well I upped the fsb a tad so I'm now sitting at 2.91Ghz and idlying at 45/45/38/43 so its dropped 5C or so since the re-application. I'll start doing them tests again - if one of the threads fail shall I upp the vcore some more?

How long should I run this Prime95, also which is the most effective test - im using small fft i think its called.

Also if its runs fine @ 2.9Gghz and doesn't get too hot can I up the FSB even more?

What are the load temps like?

Run the Small FFT test. It's the CPU test, and your memory should be fine at the speed it's running at.

I would run Prime95 for atleast a couple of hours if none of the threads fail.

temps loads are no more than 67C currently sitting at 66/65. Thread 3 failed after 15 mins exactly. I think I put vcore down to 1.375 - shall I put it back up a notch or 2?

I would give it a little more vcore.

Ok will do, put it to 1.38 and will see what thats like. Are these stability tests just for a guarantee that its not gonna crash etc - realistically I'll never have one core on 100% usage let alone 4?

Isit ok to play some games now and do the tests later? (this in a way is testin it right?)

P.S what temps are considered bad? Keeping <70C should be safe?

Been going 15 mins without any issues as of yet - vcore is at 1.216v in cpu-z & max temp 68C so far.

Under 75c is considered sensible, tho in the 80's will not cause any damage.

Stability tests are run to try to ensure that the machine won't crash when you're doing something important, whether that's writing an important document or coming up against the latest end-of-level boss.

And yeah playing a few games now will be fine.

also dont record your idle and load vcore readings from CPUZ. use everest or something like that.

Infact get yourself this program

OCCT

It will prime all 4 cores aswell as give you proper temp readings aswell as give you proper vcore readings during load and idle.

its what i use aswell as prime95 ;) but if you pass the OCCT 1 hour test then you should be fine for gameing and other stuff like browseing net and music and movies.

but if you want to be fully safe then i usualy prime for about 5 hours if that passes then i consider that im stable.

good luck and again dont use cpuz to read your vcore from.
