I recently changed motherboard to an Asus maximum v gene. I have an i7 2600k processor and 8 GB ram. I kept the processor at stock for 2 weeks to make sure everything was ok before trying to overclock.

Yesterday I tried to start to overclock. I changed the multiplier to 45 and it automatically set the voltage to 3.330. I made no other changes. I booted into windows and ran prime 95 for 12 hours. The highest temp I got was 69 degrees.

Then I ran Intel burn test on maximum. Again the highest temp was 69. However after the second run it stopped and said there was a problem with the overclock?

Should I ignore Intel burn test? Are there any other settings I should change?

Hi, l just use IBT 10 runs standard, 6 runs high and set your threads[i7 920=8 threads] its never let me down. If the overclock is un-stable it usually shows up straight away, far better than p65.

Try setting your CPU at stock to rule out a bug within IBT, then if it passes try overclocked again... if it still fails then overclock is not stable.
