I have purchased one of these and managed to get windows installed etc, but I have a pci-e X800 XT from a previous machine and was wondering if there should be any issues with this in terms of power? Sorry if anyone read the previous postb efore i edited.. if feel stupid after finding a cable to get it working lol but i suppose the power is my concern !

the gfx should be ok in that. from what i real the card uses around 70w at load. but im not 100% sure on that.

i guess it depends on what else you have in the case as well.

its using a 300w psu init?

Dont have too much other than what was given, only a 250w i think

I had an X800XL working in a shuttle with a similar power supply, but then shuttle PSU's do have a fairly good reputation. It says on the spec on the wedsite that it can handle a 7600 or 7900, and an X800 is only a little bit more power hungry than them.

But I agree it is a tough decision, I was nervous when I first put my card in, and again when I changed it for a HD3650 a week ago!

i know what you could do is buy a Electricity Power Energy Monitor Mete from the
bay. that would then give you a read out on what your system is using .

just an idea. 1 will cost you around 15 quid tho.
