So my build log died a death last time due to a series of component failures that in the end made me give up the planned build with a custom loop and just throw everything into the case using a H105 mainly down to time and funds :(

The time has come for me to get my ass in gear and build something that I am happy with - so to not bore you lot any more:

List of parts:

Phanteks Enthoo Primo SE orange and black
Asus Rampage Extreme V
Intel 5930K
16Gb Ripjaws 4 DDR4 2400mhz
Sli EVGA 980 SC
Superflower Platinum 1200W PSU
Various SSD and other bits

Alphacool UT60 480 (possibly XT45)
Alphacool UT60 360
D5 Vario with XSPC top
EK Evo 2011v3 block
2 x FC-980 EK Copper blocks with black back plates
EK Spin V3 res
Monsoon orange fittings
Black 16/10 tubing

I've brought back my original professional grade sketch up :o

Why not a Gigabyte SOC Force I hear you ask - it is the perfect colour? Well - I had one and it died and had to be RMA'd. This was after the original build was together  I replaced it with the RVE and it's been solid.

Radiators have been upgraded to the above because I wasn't happy with temps when it was briefly together last time on the EK PE480 and XSPC EX360 although that was using 2 780's. These two beasts should keep everything much cooler!

So some of the parts I already have and some are being ordered over the next few days with a view to getting it done before April :p

Will definitely need to get some kind of stand for it - it's on a desk right now and it's heavy without the water gear.

Original thread in here:

Try again having read the sub-forum guidelines :p Sorry again

Fancied a change from my current build in the Switch 810 but couldn't really afford to blow loads of cash on a serious hardware upgrade so decided that case and cooling would be what I change. This is my 3rd water build and I'm hoping that I'll be able to use stuff I've learned along the way to make a build that I am actually happy with.... and MAYBE can leave alone form the foreseeable future. I've never really been happy with my Switch build and all my gear lived in an 800D for a while but I wasn't really happy with that either.

Looking to achieve a quiet (Yes I'm looking at you XSPC res/pump combo), tidy build with excellent cooling for current and future hardware. My current 360 and 120 rads are great but I've noticed that since clocking everything to try and push frames to my ROG Swift, things have been getting a little toasty.

So what am I carrying over -

1 x I7 4770k that runs quite hot. Hasn't had a de-lid but considering it for this build.
1 x XSPC Raystorm.
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-OC with 16Gb Ballistix tracer ram.
2 x reference 780's with XSPC blocks.
1 x Corsair HX850.
1 x D5 pump
Plus various SSD's and drives.

And the shiny stuff I've bought :D

Enthoo Primo SE in orange and black
EK-Coolstream PE 480
XSPC EX360
XSPC dual bay res
XSPC D5 pump top
7 x Corsair SP quiet editions
And lots of shiny Monsoon fittings and black Primochill tubing.
Gigabyte X99 SOC FORCE
5930K
16GB DDR 4 Ripjaws 2400mhz
Super Flower 1200w Platinum

Haven't 100% decided on tubing routing yet as I want to see the case first. Plan is to hide some of it out the way if I can and for that reason I've gone for slimmer tubing than my last build. Gonna use 3/8 5/8 and hopefully I can make it tidy.

I'm sure bits will change over time and I will do my best to keep it updated on here. Any questions or suggestions please give me a shout - and if any of this isn't right as far as forum rules go please give me the chance to edit it rather than delete it - I know it's my fault for not following the rules 100% but I've put time into starting this and it was a bit of a downer to just have my original one deleted - Thanks

I'd also like to say that originally I planned another white build until I saw MorleySA's White Out Build - but as it's better than anything I'd have achieved and after spitting my dummy out and sulking like a baby for a few days, I decided on the orange build. Was actually gonna buy the black case and have orange tube the day the orange one was announced but woke up too late to drive over and buy it and then spotted this - everything happens for a reason :)

Hi Alz. Just double check that a 480 rad will fit in the top of that case - it's a long old rad!

Also, are you aware that Alphacool just launched a crossflow version of the UT series? Just on the off-chance that it makes your loop easier. Ports are at either end of the rad as well as top and bottom of the atria - so all options covered.

The one thing I'd point out is that although they supply G1/4 stops for 4 of the 6 ports, they are a nickel chrome rather than black - so they don't blend in as much as you'd hope. Monsoon do appear to do an orange stop though. Also, with the blocked ports on the top, the stops actually sit slightly proud of the rest of the rad so you might want some 1mm M3 black nylon washers to space it out (I could only find 0.8mm thick so I used two 0.5mm washers on each screw but it was a pain to get them to stay on...until I Pritt Stick'ed them in place ). Installing the rad into the roof of a Fractal Design S with fans on the bottom (fans, rad, case) I also found that the screws supplied by Alphacool to screw rad to roof were slightly too long and hit the protector plate before being tight. The washers fixed that.

Hope that's of some help.

Thanks for the info - the Primo has so much space up top I believe the 480 UT60 will fit no problems! Stops is something I had not even thought about either. My bank balance is looking poorly now! Just ordered most of the parts.
