Print Screen issue, Need help!!! win7

I have windows 7 build 7600 and basically I when I hit the print screen button in a game, then go to mspaint, it only pastes a black screen. I can print other screens fine, but in game screens no. Any suggestions?

I've just tried this out of interest and it prints the desktop behind the game instead of the game itself.

If I had to guess (I could be wrong), I think it is the nvidia drivers - I've had a few problems with W7 and my card (I'm using an 8800GT)

I don't think it's the nvidia drivers. I've had the same problem with my 8800GT and now also with my ATI 4890XT.

I think its because of DirectX.

Use fraps instead, it works perfectly.

Try using Alt+PrintScreen instead.

tried the tpu capture, same thing.

Hmm, that helps actually. I've had problems with VLC that resolve themselves when using openGL.

I have had driver problems as well but it looks like the two issues might be unrelated.

I read somewhere else that it's because so dx as well. But it worked fine for me in Vista x64
