Havent ordered any in a couple of years, are HP still the best available followed by D-Link? and is it still true to avoid netgear print servers like the plague!

HP are good and i use them mainly, but i have 5 of the little single port netgear ones all on differnet printers (big hp's through to small lasers) and have no problem with them.

forgot about Axis :D

edit, think it was Netgear PS110's which have been a real pain and when asking around everybody told me to avoid them

Netgear PS110's

Thats the ones, only issue i came accross was server 2003 didnt have them in the print server list, and thats eaisily solved by using the 4 port version and making sure you choose port 1.

Like i said others may have had problems but when it comes to 200 for a jet direct or 40 for one of them then its an easy choice for me.
I have to admit though the printers there on dont get hammered, they are well used though.

I used a Netgear WGPS606 54Mbps Wireless Print Server with 4 port Switch on one of my customers. This allows for two USB printers and seems to be working very well. £70.

This is a Wireless box. And it also has the bonus of working as a Bridge for your WiFi network. It's doing a good job for them as it is allowing them to have their office in the loft (three floors up) with the main WiFi access point downstairs. But if they are in the front room watching TV, they can still print out upstairs.

All works well :)

HP closely followed by Intel :)

Hate axis print servers. Found them VERY unstable!

got a few intel netport express 10/100, but when trying to reorder them a few years ago i was told they stopped making all print servers :(
