Hi Guys

I've killed my Epson workhorse printer.
I want to replace it with a similar printer but with A3+ capabilities.

I've never had much luck with Epson compatible inks but I have a canon that works really well with them.
Are epson still bad when it comes to compatible inks. I do a lot of posters and Menus for my restaurant and the Canon takes an age to print.. And is probably too good for what we want (bought for photos)

What about the new Epson eco tank range, no chips involved, so no detection involved, you pour the 4 coloured inks into containers built into the printer, ive just got the 2820, its only A4 but its a great printer, and can get 3rd party inks for it off rainforest or fleabay

Never had any issues with epson compatible ink
Also got an ecotank now
Just be aware if you leave it a long while
It will still clog up
There's actually still cartridges in it even though its a tank printer
The cartridges are after the tanks
And ink flows from the tanks then into the cartridges

what I was saying was you dont need to change the cartridges with the chip on them like the old style Epson's, you just pour ink into the tanks, I too never had any problems with compatible inks with my old Epson which was a Expression Home XP452, it was just sat for too long idle and I gave up trying to unclog it.
