I thought it was a calibration problem hence i kept trying to calibrate my software to printer however today they are coming out green!. I did a print head clean and now it's all yellow.

Now i know why my prints looked worse and worse

Fixed it!

But my shots are still coming out like crap :(

Different profiles e.t.c, Do i use SRGB or ADOBE RGB

How did you fix the 'yellow' problem?
Mine does this and have considered chucking it because of.
Epson R300 by the way.

Neither! If you are using Photoshop remove any embedded colour profile from the image.

Then tell it to print and select the correct paper profile in the printing options for the paper, each paper will have it's own specific profile that you should be able to download from the manufacturers website (depending on make/model of printer/paper).

That will give you the most accurate colouring...however if you haven't got a calibrated screen it will only ever be a best guess scenario, you can't get perfect printing (without masses of trial and error) withour profiling your screen and paper I'm afraid, but that will help you along the way. :)

How did you fix the print problem? I have a similar problem with mine and assume its due to the ink drying inside the print head. But I have tried soaking it in isopropyl with no success.

I'd buy a new printer but I cant seem to find any that do cds :(.

Have a search for the Canon Pixma iP4850 Photo Inkjet Printer.

That does CDs. :)

Thanks, looks pretty good :). Mines a Canon ip4000, i guess this model is a newer version. I'd rather pay £67 for a new printer than £40 for a new printhead .

I'm using Tesco Premium Glossy Paper and i haven't found any specific profiles for my IP4500 :(. I'll do a try tomorrow, thanks ;)

On mine it was Printer Properties, Management and there should be a print head cleaning part

Printers, printing, colour profiles etc are something that completely baffle me!

I really should do some research on it :(

Just looked a bit closer and it appears the ink carts are microchipped so you cant use compatible ink? Screw paying £50 for a set of ink :(. I hate Canon grrr.

Basically you can buy ink that works on our canon printers, whereby the microchip has been swapped over to another cartridge. Go on the bay and search for your printer ink, i'll bet your find it on the cheap

I got myself 12 for £13
