Printer drivers

Hi all,
quickie question.
If i'm looking for a windows server 2008 x64 driver for my printer and there isn't one listed, do you think the windows 7 x64 driver that IS listed would be ok?

ASAIK win7 drivers are as akin to server 2008 as XP drivers are to windows server 2003??? (well, hoping anyway)

your thoughts please?
Oh, and before you say, "install it and see" I haven't got the OS yet, i'm trying to figure out the best OS for the job without having to change existing hardware due to lack of drivers/support etc.

for windows 2008, you'd preferably be wanting vista drivers. 2008 R2 is the server equivalent to windows 7.
