printer friendly software, most used

i have a C.V for my gf to get on her website and i am putting it in text on the site, and also will put a download link to print. What im wondering is what the best file/software to use is?

i know i could use PDF, but does many people have acrobat reader? same as MS word? how do the bbc news website do it? they don't seem to use any software.

Options, you could have it as pdf. An awful lot of people have pdf readers now (mac's have preview by default).

However,you can bypass software by having two versions of the file, one to view and a different 'printable' version.... this is afaik how beeb do it.

But seriously, PDF and DOC options are best. 95% of people (if not more) will be able to view those, and almost 100% of those to whom her cv would be relevant.
