I am after an inkjet printer for my brother. I have not bought one for many years. His printer is on its last legs. It is a Canon which he has had for 15 years. It has served him well.

His budget is under £100....

He likes Canon..obviously.

Any ideas which is the best at his price point?

He uses the printer for general day to day things and the occasional photos.

He has a Windows pc and a tablet. Thanks

Rule of thumb for inkjet printers, the cheaper they are to buy, the more they cost to run. I have use of 2 HP A3 printers, the cost of cartridges beggars belief.

I'd have a look at the Megatank range from Canon. Cheapest is over his budget, but he can refill rather than replace cartridges.

Printer needs to be easy to use so ordinary inks would suffice. He is 73 so needs something that is straightforward to setup and use

I am very happy with the Epson EcoTank. The inks last years and the printer is very reliable. I’d recommend.

If he only prints photos occasionally, then I would suggest a mono laser printer and just use any of the online services such as Snapfish for photo printing when needed.

The Brother HL-L2400DWE can be picked up for ~ £90.00 and will be much more cost effective to run plus no inks to dry up when not used for a prolonged period.
