printer not printing black

im guessing the head is baulked but just in case theres another solution im posting the problem here.
My ip4500 prints everything fine except it wont print using the main black cartridge. I tried cleaning the head and going through all the maintenance features but no difference. I only use branded cartridges and i retied a replacement cartridge and its the same same. Every colour prints fine except nothing from the black cartridge.

Have you removed the print head for cleaning or just used the in built cleaning cycles?

I had the exact same problem and used Servisol IPA 170.

Place the head in a small dish and soak with the isoprop. You might need to top up the fluid. Leave soaking for a few hours, remove and allow to dry. You might need to do this a few times.
