Printer problems

Hi there,

Not really sure where else to post this, so will do so here.

I picked up a Lexmark 4300 the other week, but haven't used it. Plugged it in (via an old USB printer cable, as it didn't come with one) and have installed the drivers.

It's one of these "printer, scanner, copier" things all-in-one. If I want to scan using Paint, I can do so. When I want to print in Paint, nothing happens. I've also tried printing in Word and it shoots up the error "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup".

I'm quite baffled as to what the problem could be. I've uninstalled the drivers installed the latest ones but no avail. Was wondering if anyone could assist with this?

OS is Windows Vista if it helps :)

Cheers

make sure you're using vista drivers - sorry for the obvious, but its an easy mistake to make. maybe uninstall drivers, unplug printer usb, restart, plug-in, and when (if) vista detects new hardware, browse to your latest driver?
