I'm having a slight problem with a couple of printers at work at the moment, they keep randomly kicking themselves off the network - they can't be printed too or pinged etc. To get them working again I have to power down the printers, reset the switch they are plugged into and then power up the printers again. This problem has only been happening for the last few days, ever since I replaced a hard drive in the laptop the department uses. I have checked the IP address of the laptop (and the rest of the computers on the network) and there are no conflicting addresses, I have replaced all the cables and the switch and the problem keeps happening. I've run out of ideas, is it possible the driver i used to install the printers on the restored laptop have caused this problem? I don't see how but I'm clutching at straws here!

Any help would be appreciated

I would say the drivers is a good place to start since it's onlt been happening since replacing the HDD.

Make sure that the printer gateway and subnet mask is also set correctly.
