I ordered myself a Dell 1350cnw printer and it comes with toners. However, I'm just doing a bit of research and not to sure how it all works. I've only ever had inkjets before. How many toners does it take? One for black, one for colour like inkjets or is there 4-5 toners for different colours like Epson do with their printers?

How many prints should I expect to see when I get it new. Let's say I was printing your average documents with graphics and text included.

I know it's hard to work out, just a ball park figure would be nice.

Cheers.

It will come with 4 toners - Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and Black. You should expect around 700 pages at 5% coverage with the included Toners but this depends on what your printing really :)

Ahh thanks for that. 5% isn't an awful lot  That's a few lines of text? Not so great. Or have I misinterpreted that?

No you haven't.

So that would be 35 100% coverage A4 prints.

Most printers come with "starter" toners which contain less than a full cartridge.

I also don't think that printer has a paper tray.

Jeezo! That's pretty grim! These lasers aren't all they're cracked up to be then? I thought it would have been a sensible option in the long run over inkjet. Looks like I was wrong.

However it is coming with full toner... that's one saving grace.

I was under the impression it would have done a lot more than 35 full size sheets. MY Epson DX6000 can do that :confused:

Thats 35 sheets at 100% of each colour coverage. Thats a PURE sheet of whatever colour you are using. Not a full sheet of bits of colour.

What exactly is the reason for purchase?

Still doesn't sound wonderful. I did more research and those figures seemed to apply to the starter toner kit. Mines is coming with full toner, so may double those figures.

It will be used for printing receipts, fliers, the odd photograph to be framed and the usual documents that need printed.
