Not far off 10 years ago, I bought an HP 8610
Last year, the heads started to fail on me.
The thing is, that the inks somehow lasted a massive length of time, and given that both my daughter and eldest son were both printing all their university papers on it, I have only replaced the inks.. .Maybe 3 times? and the inks that are in it now, have had almost ZERO use aout of them.
Anyway, the head fell poorly, and so I bought myself a cheaper printer, this one is still an all in one, but its a Deskjet 4100 - Another HP.
Now, this 4100 does a perfectly fine job, I am not going to moan, however since the very day I got it, its been a pain to use.
What I mean, is that every time I try toprint something, it kind of stops, as if its jammed, and I have to go and press the button and it carries on.
Its worked fine and for the most part, thats ok, but the thing is, that I have it in a different room and I am disabled and so going all the way to the dinig room from my computer room is a pain in the bum.
( No, putting it into the computer room is not an option. )
Anyway, the reason I posted this, is 3 fold
1. Is it worth me buying a new, or refurbished head for the 8610
2. Is therte a way to stop this 4100 from thinking its jamming all the time?
3. What printer out there is going to be as reliable as my 8610 has been, and for a fair price?
Thank you to anyone who helps.
