Basically my desktop pc and my laptop in my room both have vista, and the family pc downstairs has xp. Now not having room for my massive epson printer i figured i could have it downstairs connected to the xp machine, and access it from my two machines upstairs in my room when i need it over the network thereby eliminating the need for it to be in my room, but still having access to it.

I'm a bit of a nub at this, so if anyone could help on how to set it up, it would be appreicated, if it's at all possible to do.

cheers

I would use a cheap print server, then none of the other 2 computers need to be turned on when printing from another one, otherwise you would simply enable "File and Printing Sharing" (having connected the printer to one of the computers) on all the computers, but with this method the computer that the printer is plugged in to has to be on to print from either of the 2 other computers. :)
