Hi,

I have an HP Laserjet 4050N printer with network card and I would like to be able to use this as a common printer for 3 or 4 PC's that are connected to my BT Home Hub v2.

In addition, I have a Netgear 8 port fast ethernet switch (model FS108) that is not used or connected to any of the equipment just in case this is useful.

How do I enable all PC's to be able to print to the printer? The LAN port on each of the PC's is connected to the BT Home Hub v2 so do I need to edit some settings on the BT Home Hub v2 or do I place the Netgear switch into the connectivity with an output to the printer LAN port?

I do not wish to have file sharing between the PC's, just printer sharing if that is possible. One of the PC's is running Windows 7 with the others all running Windows XP.

Any help most appreciated.

Connect the printer to your Ethernet connection. If the BT Home Hub has one Ethernet port, connect the switch to it. Then the printer to the switch. Give the printer a static IP address then on each PC just connect to the printer by the printer install wizard via direct IP.
