printer software install error

im trying to install a cannon printer with the supplied cd, but it keeps coming up with an error during the install.

process cannot be continued because the print spooler service has been stopped. Restart the computer to start the print spooler service and then try again.

restarted a couple of times and always get the error
 
press Windows key & R, Type in services.msc

Make sure print spooler service is running.

Edit: I'd also advise getting the latest drivers from the webiste, but the ones on the disc should still work.
 
not running

try running it and get
error 1053
the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
 
turned of the machine for a good while, came back and turned it on, checked services.msc
to Make sure print spooler service is running. which it was and have now been able to install it fine :)
 
now im getting an error

new port could not be created: 0000

seem to to be stuck on the driver, will find the printer on the network then comes up with this
