Very stange one here, our main printer at work today printed a nice selection of porn!?

The printer log shows, the an "Unknown" user printed them:confused:

It was printed from a web page but there is nothing logged for that speciified website

We have a secure access point, but even then the printer is especially assigned to certain computers

Arrrrrgh - How can I find out who this was and how it happened?

It's definately not accessable from the internet is it? That sounds like the thread in GD a while ago where people could access printers through google, printing random things. :p

I'd second this. Web interfaces and printers are dangerous..

VPN users with work laptops or vpn users with home machines?

:)

The thing is obviously everyone on the domain has a username, and the printer is networked and in the logs i can see all the usernames that have printed but this one is "unknown" ok

Also, users who access the VPN have the same logon credentials so wouldnt the system of picked up the username even it was via VPN?

Start waving your acceptable use policy around like a madman and put the willys up people in case they think about doing it again (no pun intended)

VPN with same login credentials? that doesn't fill me with hope!

Get it locked down, disable the VPN until you can find the gap in security mate.
