Since most printers today are all-in-ones which utilize the output tray also as the input tray, this means the printing media has to rotate 180 degrees through the job. This is fine for printing on paper, but not card.

Not sure what gsm rating the card I bought is, but it is slightly too stiff for it to print on - it jams halfway. It can print on the lower quarter of the card (i.e. at its least stiff point) but anywhere else on the card is hopeless.

Is there any way around this or will I have to resort to printing on paper and gluing it to the card? The job is not so important that I have to buy a new printer or pay for the service. :p

And just out of curiosity - what kind of printers do the companies that specialize in card printing use?

Companies that do a lot of printing on card will tend to use a Laserjet printer which has a straight through paper path facility that prevents or at least reduces paper jams. Trying to get an Inkjet to play nice with card can be a pain. Good luck ;)
