Same here. Plugged it in and switched it on... nothing else required. Windows, however, requires loads of drivers being installed and for some reason XP doesn't like the version on the CD that came with the printer.
Do a bit of research first as some printers work but others don't. HP apparantly are usually ok as I think hp produces linux drivers. Epson sometimes work, my r200 works fine for docs but photo quality is awful - I always boot into XP to print a photo. Canon and lexmark are pretty afaik.
