Hi Guys,

I've been contacted by email today from someone asking for a print of one of my photographs.

Been pretty new to photography, I'm quite pleased with this!

However, I have never had to get a photo printed before, nor know the costs. They are willing to pay, so I will either charge them the price it costs me to get it printed, and perhaps add a little bit on top, perhaps not.

However, my question is, what are the different ranges of prints etc, what are most popular sites to get them front, and what does the price range from?

I was thinking perhaps it would be around 10-25 pounds?

The photo in question is:

Well depends on a few things. Size is probably biggest concern.

I've recently ordered a few biggish poster prints from Pixum.co.uk 24"x32" were £20 each

as said depends on size.

sod charging them what it costs to print, anything up to A3 will be less than £1. make some profit on it if they want it that bad.

we use ds colour labs with good results, a 30x20 will cost you 16+postage for example.

Sorry to bump this thread but just some other feedback with Photobox. I've been using them for a few standard 6 x 4 photos and they come out fine. I've recently had a slightly larger picture printed and its come out quite dark compared to what I thought it would be and on my screen it looks well. My screen is auto calibrated by a Huey Pro and need to ask if Photobox's printing standard is off or should I take my business elsewhere?

Do you guys resize the photos yourselves in photoshop/gimp or do you leave it up to the printer?

I presume the printer has better software than the Sinc or Cubic scaling that might be used at home.

crop it to the correct aspect before sending (otherwise theyll squash or chop) but give them as many pixels to work with as possible.
