Hey,

I have a folder full of images. I want to print all of them 1 time each but the longest side of each one must be 500px. Any ideas as to what is the easiest and quickest way of completing this?

Import them into something like Picasa, and then export them using a fixed height or width (whichever is longest) of 500px. It should automatically calculate the ratio of the other dimension.

Right, I did a batch convert on a folder full of images and they are now all sized as I wish them to be but how can I get them to be printed at their current resized dimension but figure out automatically the best use of a piece of A4 paper so instead of 1 pic per sheet it will print approx 2 or 3 per page?

do you have photoshop?

In CS/CS2 you can create contact sheets (file>automate>contact sheet) in later versions i think its integrated in to adobe bridge.

i don't know if this will retain your '500px' dimension though... mmm just checked, doesn't look like it does!

you could create an action in photoshop that will do it for you but i'm not too hot on those...

lol why did you do that?

Prints need to be made at the highest PPI possible. You may have shaved off a significant amount of image quality.

Also, printers cant just print an image 500 pixels wide, you need to tell it the physical size aswell.

Can't you just use the windows photo printing wizard? It lets you do 4 per page or 6 per page, etc...
