Printing Through Remote Desktop

Having some problems with a HP C5180 printer connected to a remote pc and trying to print locally through a remote desktop connection (Windows Server 2003 machine).

HP do not supply a server 2003 driver so I decided to try and download the HP Universal Printer Drive PCL5 and when logged in changed the port to the TS printer port matching the printer.

I have managed to get it to print but it was just gobbdly gook!

I then tried using a different driver, firstly for a deskjet 740 and then an officejet v45. Both print some of the text from the printout but not all.

Has anyone got any other suggestions?

Use the XP driver and install using the setup program and XP compatibility mode.

As above, XP driver usually work with Windows Server 2003.

What happened/didn't happen?

Gave a generic error when it had checked requirements, this is running under XP compatibility mode.
