Printing to image file?

Hi guys just formated my pc and previously i was able to select print and save it as an image file so that i could print it off at a later date. Now that ive formated that option is not available in the printer selection. Where do i add this image printer, ive tried adding a printer and i can only add a local or network printer and i cannot find nothing in the add/remove windows software?

Any ideas where i can install this guys?

Do you mean 'Print to file'? If I print something in Word there is an option to print to file.

yes basically when i goto print there was an option by selecting an image printer to save to a file....

now all i have is my actual printer? any ideas where i can install this image file printer?

Did you have an 'Image printer' before hand then? Isn't this Print to file thing you want just an option in certain programs? Some checkbox in the Word print dialog to make Word print to file instead of print to erm printer?

it was an actual printer installed in my printer section in control pannel. Hmm maybe if i install word/office maybe that will set it up

ill give it a go later

You probably mean the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer which should install itself when you install ms office.
