Well a while ago I saw someone asking about getting stuff printed and I decided to look at Whitewall. I thought I'd just get a random pic printed but then I saw some silly options that perked my curiousity. As usual I couldn't just pick the usual options and today they finally arrived. The order took about 3 weeks which seemed like a long time but it was nice to get it.

I got two test prints:

One 4"x4" Photo print on aluminium backing
One 24"x8" Photo print on Forex with acrylic glass

The acrylic glass is shiiiiny :D The smaller print on the alumium backing has more of a matt finish so I guess the picture would have to suit the finish if someone was gonna spend the cash on it.

Here's some pics of the pics hehe

Up on the wall :) Might want to move it away from the bright lights lol

Aluminium backing print - the pics don't really do it justice as it looks a lot better.

Can kinda see the texture here but it looks a bit weird with light bouncing off it. That seems to be why it looks a bit weird.

Well the option I chose has some kind of layer between the print and the aluminium itself I think. It's probably just some kind of paper or other material that is mounted on the aluminium.

They do have another option to print on a brushed aluminium finish so I guess that might allow you to do that but the finish would be even more matt than this! Means it might not suit some kinds of pics I guess.

To be fair it could have been anyone who recommended lol :P It was such a long time ago but if it was you then ta :)

As for which I prefer, the smaller one was just a sample really to see what the texture was like. It's difficult to compare them especially since I prefer the beach pic anyway :) The Bee macro was just the only decent pic I had at the time which I thought would look good in a square crop which was the smallest print available.

The acrylic does look nice but its a shame it adds so much to the cost. The acrylic print seems to be a regular Forex print with acrylic glass over the top so I might try a regular Forex print some time as the price looks more reasonable.

The one that initially caught my eye was the one with the super duper special resin layer over the top but that seems to be the most expensive :P lol
