Ok I've posted this exact issue months ago quoting "QoS" and never got a single response, months later I still haven't found a solution and I was hoping maybe someone else might offer some light this time
I'm on a wifi network at home, my two flatmates do a lot of bittorrent, which wouldn't bother me so much if not for the fact that it'd practically kill our webpage connections (especially since we're on virgin and seem to get hit really bad at peak hours), and the fact that I can't play any internet games (constantly disconnected from Guitar Hero World Tour).
I've tried using some open source firmware on my old router at the old house several months ago, which didn't resolve the problem, and later killed the router. I'm now using the virgin box standard router and not tempted to flash it at all.
Is there anyway at all that I could stop bittorrents or any download services from completely seizing up the network?
