Pro Cycling Discussion 2016

Apologies for my poor grammar

I blame the iPad!

I'd go for Stybar (solo) Sagan, Van Marcke (together), then a bigger group, Cancellera, Benoot, Terpstra, Boom and Stannard in that order!

I am finding it tough for PR. Sagan and Spartacus are obvious picks but I question how long Sagan can possibly hold this form, he has done massive amounts of racing and smashing it in the break up the road pretty much every race.

Ettix, lol, I am not predicting anything decent for them what so ever. Gave up. However.... Tony Martin can ride basically 90% of the race on the front at 400w which will cease the need to waste Stybar and Terpstra early on. Stybar will feature more so I think if they manage to get it remotely right.

I want Stannard to win, properly want that. However, I think Kristoff is going to be coming "good" now, I've not favoured him or picked him on fantasy team at all so far but I think this is now when he is going to come good.

Stannard
Sagan
Cancellara
Stybar
Kristoff
No sprint. Outside shout, Stuyven.

I hope Stannard wins it to. Whats the expected time for the finish of the PR? Im going out for my first ride of the year(gulp) and want to get back for it.

I've got Rowe EW at 80-1 (well before his 5th at Flanders) so I'll be cheering in Welsh on Sunday! I'd love Spartacus to ride away from everyone with 50k to go in his last monument, don't think I'll bet on it though. Is the weather still looking a bit wet? It's been a while since we've had proper rain at P-R isnt it?

Edit: Looks like rain - favours the cross riders (Stybar / Boom) maybe

For anyone interested in the domestic circuit, Eurosport 2 showing 30 minute highlights of the Chorley GP around 5PM on monday. Of course, the next race in that series is this weekend so I have no idea when that's going to be shown.

Enjoyed ITV 4's coverage of the domestic scene last year, hope they do some more.

Ok, we're under way!

Weather forecast...
Paris: sunny all day
Arenberg: sunny/cloudy, high of 16
Roubaix: sunny/cloudy, high of 14

So it's looking like pretty good cycling conditions out there. It was dry yesterday so the cobbles won't be too bad but it'll still be pretty muddy on the sides.

Sagan's bike handling, ridiculous.

To quote the commentator 'He has very good bike handling skills, you know, the way he handles the bike, he does it very well'.

Wot :D
