Any top tips for Sunday? I think OGE will have too many chiefs and so I quite fancy Vakoc to go solo on the Cauberg and everyone else look at each other rather than chase

Geschke says he's been targeting it, bit of a wildcard but I fancy his chances better than Barguil or Dumoulin. Enrico Gasparotto won it back in 2012, he might not be on quite the form he was then but WGG are pretty motivated to get a win for Demoitie. Other than that I went for Kwiat > Matthews > Gallopin > Vakoc > Gilbert > Moreno. Julian Alaphillipe is a pretty popular choice, EBH is on good form, expect to see him in the top 10 barring incidents but I doubt he'll be too near the top.

Went with Geschke too for laughs. I've given up with EBH - every time I back him he's in the top 5 in the finale and manages to screw up the sprint (worlds last year, Amstel last year, PR this year). Should be a great race; I hope we get a Simon Clarke-esque escape and decent lead group with 20ks to go so it's not just a Cauberg sprint / watch the last 5 minutes race

Edit: just reading road cc they reckon he's fractured his skull. Doesn't surprise me, he looks like he did a full on face plant.

Unfortunate if true, would be a rather disappointing way of deciding it after everything they've both put into it. Not sure I buy it though, 1) it's the Daily Mail and 2) a fractured elbow should not affect your form much at all this far out, just look at Matty Hayman

Just seen this, I don't see it with the amount sky invested in him considering he almost had a year out. They had a personal soigneur with him for his time in colombia then told him he had to stay in majorca permanently until he was back racing last year.
