Pro Cycling Discussion Thread 2015

In the middle of the bunch, pushing/touching can be used to let somebody into the line in front or just make him aware that you're beside him so he doesnt cut in front.
You see it a lot at the front too, usually when the sprint trains are lining up. Usually used to tell somebody to go to the front and do some work.

^This. It's used a lot to keep someone off your line, or if you are trying to move up through the pack.

I'm just going off the BBC text stream, but according to that it was Cav, then Degenkolb, then Greipel, then Sagan. As said, JD and Greipel had a little clash of shoulders trying to get on Cav's wheel and it slowed Greipel down enough for him to drop to 7th going through.
This explains it better.

Interesting.
I wonder if Cav is showing an intention of going for the green jersey?

The past couple of years he has purely gone for stage wins and not shown much interest in the overall points classification. The rules have changed a little this year to favour sprint stage winners more so maybe he thinks he has a chance of getting the jersey?

Greipel and JD both wanted on Cav's wheel, Greipel stuck the shoulder into JD giving Cav a small gap and they didn't really contest him beyond that, JD didn't even sprint. Sagan was meanhwile at the back of this and did not contend it. Cav was just left to go really after the little clash. There are 4 riders in the breakaway though, so those guys got the max points through the checkpoint anyway.

Incredible when you consider he is still so young and hence in the white jersey for best young rider. He really is a top class rider and he will be around for many more years to come!

Will be very interesting to see how he develops as he matures, he seems to have it all as a cyclist and should be challenging for years to come.

He's known for doing a wheelie or two at the top of climbs and finish lines :D

He certainly has a sense of humour be interesting with time if he works more on his climbing in pursuit of a GC placing or will he be happy with stages and points jerseys.
