Pro Cycling Discussion Thread 2015

33-1 too, almost had a punt myself but thought better of it! Swifty should ahve done better today isn't clinical enough for me. Potentially excusable given he's been off for a while but he's a podium placer on a tough day, rather than a consistent winner for me

Nibs joins the incredibly strong Astana team for the Vuelta - who gets team leadership there! I'm thinking Aru with Nibs for stage wins. He hasn't looked consistent all season but can really got hard when he's on a good day. Froome is favourite at 5/2 and hasn't even announced he's riding! He's also at 5/6 for next years TdF which is barking!

Wouldn't be surprised to see Swift get dropped by Sky. Obviously has been out for a while, but hasn't done a great deal in his time there. Agree that he's not clinical enough. Seems to lack an element of tactical thinking. He looked tired having chased a lot of attacks, but going onto the Mall first was pretty much curtains imo.

Maybe you let him off with eagerness after the long layoff but his palmares aren't great - he was their sprinter after a tough day / classics bloke (3rd in MSR don't forget), but Little Flower is far superior to him in that role next season.

Caleb Ewan a little too soon in the WT.....or just pushing the limits.

Yday he goes up the inside of Kitel into the last corner and have a shoulder barge.

Today goes shoulder to shoulder with a Lampre rider, comes off worse and pinballs into a Trek rider before hitting the deck and bringing half the Peloton down.

I think it's because he looks like a little innocent schoolboy lol, he looks about 12 years old!

Amazing rider, quite a shame he was so quiet in the Tour but he had a good early start to the year.

He's one of a few very promising new sprinters. The nudge with Kittel was pretty par for the course really, there's always some contact in sprints, especially with finishes as technical as those Poland seems to like. With the huge crash yesterday, it seems like the Lampre rider deviated from their line and took out his front wheel. Can't really blame that on his youth. Shame though, would have been an interesting sprint, just lucky nobody came off worse.
