right this came through the post today, didnt ask me to update (is there an update)

and now i have huge black borders on my widescreen TV, how do i fix this

if not its going to be sold very quickly

+ anywhere got a good site for how to edit the teams to be more real, i dont like playing as "tyneside" instead of newcastle lol :D
 
The game is only 4:3 afaik.

It'll be a button on your tv remote control to change the image to widescreen, probably called 16:9 or ratio.
 
just been googling and the game doesnt support widescreen at HD resolution

I don't think there are any guidelines for backwards compatibility.

As long as the game works in on one setting it counts as a pass for MS imo.

Case in point:

Halo 2: Can't get on live with it using VGA cable, unless you've downloaded the update beforehand.
XII: Doesn't work with the VGA cable.

There are many others but those are the only two I've personally had trouble with.


You should consider yourself lucky with the live though, I was too late to get it. :/
 
If you change the settings in the dash to 480p it works full-screen. Just change it back afterwards.

You're missing my point. Surely the fact that the game runs, as it did on the original machine I might add, must make it backwardly compatible. It never looked any better on my old modded HD xbox anyway.

It does make it backwards compatible I agree, but Mic has argued that it isn't backwards compatible if it doesn't run in widescreen at 720p.

Ah, I've not tried any others, so no idea how they are handled. Pro Evo 6 is out soon enough isn't it?
 
pro evo 5 is horrible on the 360, i played it once then sold it on, plus there didnt seem to be many players, the p.c version is where its at, loads of players, good graphics and no horrible boarders, i play this more than any game on my 360
 
sticking it on the members market later tbh

i see how you can argue its backwards compat, but as someone has already said its not running at 720 which is what the others ones do, i just think that PES5 is a popular game and not to have it fully back compat is a joke
