Pro Evolution 5 Tips, Tricks & League

Our store is about to do a Pro Evo League, just wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks?

I was going to be Manchester United but I'm not allowed as 4 other people are them. Which team do you recommend I choose instead?

It's been done on the XBOX so I'm thinking of remapping 'Y' with the Black button as I think it'll be more useful, your thoughts?

If anyone is interested in joining the league, it's been done by CEX which is at the bottom of Northumberland Street, Newcastle.

Ac Milan, Barca, Chelsea, Inter.

I think your remapping idea is probably the only feasible option really. The through ball button is a good swap as it's barely used compared to the control button, although having it as Y will take some getting used to tbh.

Would they let you take a ps2 pad and convertor? :p

edit: perhaps you could map it to the left trigger then have the player change and either Y or black.

Juve :-)

Cannavaro & Turam at the back, not to mention Buffon in goal. Zebinna and Zambrotta are good fullbacks.

Employ Viera as a holding midfielder and you have Camoranesi, Ruben Olivera and Pavel Nedved in midfield amongst others.

Up front you have an embarrassment of riches. Del Piero, Ibrahimovic, Mutu, Trezuquet and Miccoli and a decent stand by player in Zalyetta. Probably best to put Del Piero in as an advanced attacking midfielder "in the hole" behind your strikers.

I don't play Juve much, honest ;)
 
One of the guys playing on the league as Barcelona keeps beaten everyone. He's played 3 games and scored 11 goals. He really knows how to use Ronaldinho and uses him to great affect. :o

Any tips on how I'd go about beaten him with Juventus?

Settings etc? :)

Break his legs?

Get a guy sent off and destroy ronaldinho ;)

I reckon play 4 at the back and have two (center and side back) defenders set to mark him on player settings (tactics or something, haven't played in a while).

This way they'll usually sway towards him and mark him well.

I usually play 4-3-3 as I find it gives me the best balance of possession and attacking force.
 
i normally play 4-4-2 with juve, but use del piero as an attacking midfielder, just behind the front 2.

as for dealing with ronaldinho...he's a tricky bugger, but man marking him aggresively will help you. with either viera or maybe one of your central defenders if your opponent is using him as a striker.

Rip him down from behind and injure him.

I think Juve are the best team in Pro Evo 5.
 
What do you guys use the black button for? I used to use it in no. 4 for sidestepping, but never use it in pro evo 5. What am I missing out on?
 
Definately Juve, best team on the game.

Good set of attackers and a brilliant keeper.

The standard formation works quite well but I like the play 3-5-2 or 3-4-3.

I am quite good at defending though and am mostly attacking anyway and have the majority of possesion in midfield so that helps :D
 
Best team, wow, I don't rate them that highly at all, and I use them a fair bit. Probably my 5 or 6th best team, but I guess it depends on your style.
I just find them too slow, apart from Nedved (who is amazing). Although I must admit their technique is great.

Personally I think Barca, Inter, Man U and AC are all better.

Adriano is insane for Inter, scores from virtually anywhere.


edit: for the guy who asked..
The black button is used for skills, such as dribbling with more control, step-over, quick turns, flip-flap, pushing the ball further forward whilst sprinting and more. I find it's main use is for shooting though, you can do a much more precise shot using it.

edit2: remembered some more things for that button, its used in super cancel in conjunction with the sprint button. You can also use it to move your player around before he heads the ball when it is in the air.

Is anyone playing this game on their 360 and using a HD LCD? I am and it looks totally carp in 480p! 720p looks a little better but i cant stand playing in 4:3. Anyone else have this problem?

I think A.C. Milan are the best team in the game. I mean with Jap stam at the back who is a god. Vieri up front who is a predator, schevchenko snooping around better than snoop dogg, inzaghi always prwoling around to clean up any sticky situations. Gillardino who'll knock them in from about anywhere and I haven't even mentioned Kaka, Nesta and Seedorf yet! Not forgetting Dida of course ;)

Yep, AC Milan are indeed very good, the top 3 italian teams seem to have more than enough defenders and very good attackers.

Inter Milan being the worst out the three though (not crap, just lack strength in depth) while its Juventus that are on top I think.

I just love the technique and what not.
