Pro Evolution Soccer 2008: 360 or PS3

And patching it on the PC is possible, and either ps style controllers or xbox controllers can be used - shame its not as easy to play in your living room!

Hopefully the patching will also be possible with the PS3 version (fingers crossed).

As for the controller for footy & racing games the PS D-pad will always be prefered, where as for FPS and 3rd person games the 360 controller is much better :)

As I only have PS3 now I'll have to go for that version I suppose...

Also hopefully we'll get dedicated servers on the PS, PES6 on the 360 was a laggy pile of poo :( (Great game tho)

would be good if it was possible to play PS3 vs 360 matches...us 360 users could really show them pesky sony types who's boss :p

I've grown out of DPADS, and all my mates will get the 360 version for live so thats where my money will be going.

how can you not play with DPAD?

im a GT4 junky, i use DPAD and Digital Buttons (256 layers of sensitivity:):)) much better and precise than a horrible analogue sticks.

If you say so :o

I wouldn't even contemplate using the D-pad and buttons.

I've always been a Fifa fan, but I think if the reviews are good I'll grab this year too for my PS3.

I can't use the sticks as well as the Dpad, just find it not as accurate

Entirely up to you; if I were you I'd base my decision on how many of your pro evo playing friends have a PS3/360 and which pad you prefer.

Personally I'm going for the 360 version all the way. Firstly because I only have a 360 and am not going to pay £400 to play one game, and secondly I much prefer the 360 pad. Couldn't believe how small and uncomfortable the PS2 pad feels when I dug out my PS2 the other day.

the way modern ECUs's work, there are very few truly Analogue components on cars these days.

but yes to me the freedom of movement is greater through digital than analogue im simply that good at manipulating (or bashing) the buttons. lOL

When using a PS2/3 controller I would say the same. For the 360 controller analogue is best though.

I never thought about it but it's weird how much I hate the PS2/3 analogue control, I think it is mainly down to the positioning. It is natural to use the analogue on the 360 and the dpad on the PS2/3

The problem with the PS3's analogue sticks are two-fold, one is that it's misplaced on the controller, which has become quite a common complaint against it, the other is that the responsiveness of the Joystick is terrible in comparison to a good one, such as the Xbox360's.

Thankfully they are rectifying one of the two problems.

Definately the PS3 version for me for two reasons.

1, The best controller is the one you are most used to for any particular game, so for me it's the PS's.

2, I don't have a 360 anymore.

PS3 version for me too, having played every released PES game since on PS1 & PS2 it seems the best controller for me as I am used to it.

But gonna wait till closer to the time in case 1 version is significantly worse than the others in terms of features. I imagine the gameplay to be the same in both as it is a multi platform release.

Gran Turismo - king of Driving Simulators - but only playable with a digital steering device :p

The PS3 (and PS2) D-pad is an analouge device though, ok i think its only something like 8 bit rather than analouges stick 16 bit ( i think). I must admit i always use the Dpad or the buttons to control the acceleration at least.

lol...every post you come out with is made as a FACT and not as your personal opinion. Myself, and clearly like a lot of other people like the position of them, and i certainly dont have any sensitivty issues! I mean theyve been there for 10 years so im sure they would have been altered if there were such a problem as you so called stated! I certainly hope they dont get changed!
