Ok, I know that last years game, and maybe the year before were not to everyones taste but I cannot resist getting the 2009 incarnation. I like football games and we dont exactly have a huge choice on the platform do we :(

I have not tried the Fifa 09 demo yet but have no intention as EA have allready indicated their feelings towards PC sports games.

I hope they have managed to resolve the issues regarding online play which plagued 2008 although I still feel those issues were server related and not specifically game related.

Have found a pre-order for £15.93

So, PES 2009 it is then.

Roll on 17th October 2008.

From what I've read from play testers the game is much slower now being more like pes5/6 in terms of speed. They have also fixed the goalies so they don't palm it out too much like in previous games. Graphics are much sharper and the edit mode has been further expanded.

The new ball physics are said to be excellent and brings back a little of the lost magic to the game. Also has some new interesting of the ball control system I'm not sure about yet.

Like you I wouldn't touch Fifa 09, it should be against the law to sell 2 such different games (next gen console v PC) with the same name. Should rename it to Fifa PC or something.

I enjoyed playing PES 8 even if it wasn't up to par with it's earlier incarnations. I'll probably be getting 2009 for the PC too.

EDIT: Also, I hated FIFA 08. Felt so sluggish and non-responsive.

Have they brought back 2v2 and 3v3 online?

From the videos ive seen online it looks very slow paced when they have the ball. I preordered last time but will wait to see what the general opinion is on here first.
