prob when downloading pics

When i download my pictures to my camera it no longer creates a folder where the pics go into what do i have to alter to get this setting back

Camera model? Software? OS? Are you downloading from or uploading to?

it is a canon camera and using usb to download to windows professional

And are you using Canon software or dragging and dropping the images directly from the camera?

Where are the images being copied to? Are they appearing on your desktop?
