I currently have the following PSU and PC spec:

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
OcUK ATI Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
MSI H67MA-E35 Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 MicroATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge) **B3 REVISION**
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM
Corsair Value 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low Voltage Dual-Channel Kit

Been having issues with PC not booting up and suspected the PSU or the GPU. GPU has been extensively tested in friends PC with no issues and I've been running mine without a GPU in. It's been OK, but the problem started happening again even without GPU which suggests to me the supply was on the way out and removing GPU kept it going for a while but now it can't even cope with that removed.

What is the cheapest PSU I can get to work with the spec above?

I want cheap because I can get mine repaired/replaced under warrenty from manufacturer so just want a cheap one to run while it's away - and to keep as standby in the future.

Just a thought, you may want to splash a little more and get a better PSU anyway..

If you're not Dual GPUing the Superflower 550W Green will be a great purchase.

Might want to check that Toshiba are covering your make/model of PSU under their warranty, OCZ went bust.

Didn't know that. Was just speaking to OCZ representative via their RMA support on their website last week and was no indication they went bust.
Support that indicates that they are still using the same brand name and still offering warrenty on their products as they confimed I could return it but just wanted me to try a few things first.

Didn't want to pay too much for one as it really only gets used for word processing and basic internet browsing these days by my wife. I rarely ever turn it on.

I'll try my mates PSU in my PC just to be sure one last time then just order one and get this repaired/replaced.

OCZ did go bust.. they do not handle any rmas etc anymore.. shame really they were a good company.

if its price and value then obviously non modular supplies are cheaper and XFX do very good cheap supplies. if you want to go even cheaper theres always used as an option.

You are not going to get a replacement psu unless it's less than a year old in which case you have a warranty with the retailer. If it's over a year old you are screwed. Toshiba is not backing OCZ's warranties apart from on a very select few ssd's. Details here.

Just buy yourself a decent psu from the likes of Seasonic, Antec, XFX (Seasonic units), Silverstone, Enermax, the better Superflower units (golden green and upwards).

good to know my vertex 4 256gb is covered for like 3.5 years left :D

Ha...no wonder the person asked me to go and try a few things. As of 2 weeks ago, I had a ticket open with OCZ and they confirmed that it was covered under the 2 year warrenty but clearly they knew that this would change very soon. Guess I should have just said no I'm sending it back now.

Well I'll try my PSU in my mates PC tonight and see what happens as the only other thing I haven't eliminated is the motherboard. If it's faulty and knowing I can't get mine fixed now I'll just buy a decent one.

Cheers for the info!
