• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Probably a very stupid question but..

Do I need to uninstall integrated graphics drivers before installing proper GPU???

So the steps would be: uninstall intel graphics, reboot, logon to windows and install drivers for new GPU??? Then switch the integrated graphics off in BIOS?

Thanks

D

No, you doing it wrong.

I did the steps my way:

1. Install GPU driver.
2. Uninstall Intel IGP driver.
3. Reboot to UEFI to disabled Intel IGP
4. Save and exit.

Just to expand on your steps/ options....

1- when do you install the actual new GPU - assuming going from onboard gpu to new card?
2- don't most people install card then driver?
3 - I assume benefit of your way is that you can plug monitor into new gpu straight away upon installing the card and it will post, otherwise installing new gpu before drivers means using the onboard gpu to boot to do so?
