Probably OcUK's strangest request ever...

I'm using some fly eating plant special soil, i forget what its called exatly. I'll go and have a look later if its still there and see if it is that sphagum peat moss stuff.

I don't think they have to be fed any flies in order to survive, but they grow much faster if you do feed them flies i found.

How many flies do they need to be fed on in order to survive?
Myself, I probably give it about a two flys a month. But towards winter, just before it's due to go into dormant period (about three months), I give it about one a week - this is to build it's energy up, and it lasts over winter.

How I understand it, the VFTs have a bulb and this keeps them alive over winter. So the more you feed it, the stronger the bulb will be.
